PROGRAMS

The Program Committee of the Crown Jewels (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is committed to delivering transformative and impactful programs that create and expand cultural, economic, and educational opportunities for underserved communities. Since 1993, our chapter’s programming has built a legacy of service aimed at uplifting the lives of children, families, and communities of color in the Charlotte region and the African Diaspora.

Aligned with our strategic plan, national initiatives, and signature programs of The Links, Incorporated, our Crown Jewels (NC) chapter is well-positioned to implement innovative and effective programs, as highlighted below.

  • Services to Youth strives to close the achievement gap from pre-K through college by equipping Black youth to become successful, productive citizens. Our chapter engages with Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology students in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEM to STEAM) education and actively supports our area’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
  • The Arts Facet aspires to cultivate and expand interest in the arts among minority youth. Our Classics Through the Ages and Connecting Threads programs enable artistic talent development and the introduction of multiple arts disciplines to the next generation.
  • National Trends and Services aims to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service. Our Crown Jewels Links Advocacy Day, Real Men Read, and Links to Success programs reinforce our focus on civic engagement, social justice, and economic empowerment.
  • International Trends and Services is committed to improving the lives of women, children, and men worldwide through empowerment and public policy leadership. Collaborations with Samaritan’s Feet and Lily Pad Haven, Inc. amplify our efforts to raise awareness about human trafficking and global poverty.
  • Health and Human Services promotes and facilitates the maintenance of good health and the elimination of chronic health disparities through education, health advocacy, and optimal utilization of health resources. Our core programs focus on heart health, breast health, mental health, oral health, HIV/AIDS, and organ, tissue and bone marrow donation.

Leveraging recognized best practices, and community partnerships, our Program Committee brings a strengthened resolve to serve with intentionality to drive positive change and elevate the communities we serve.
